Biographical information on the Mackenzie-Parker Gang
The Mackenzie-Parker Gang (MPG) is made up primarily of
three people: Stefan Doroschuk (BJ Parker), Mack Mackenzie and Michel "Mick
Mustang" Langevin.
Stefan "Billy Joe Parker" Doroschuk, One of the founding members of the group "Men Without Hats".
He is one of only two people to have played on all of the MWH albums and
was a producer/songwriter/musician for the band. Throughout his career,
he has had songs charted all over the world (e.g. no.1 in Hong Kong, no.1
in Canada, no.4 in Italy, no.2 in Germany, no.3 in the U.S...) plus several
Gold and Platinum records awarded as well as being nominated for a Grammy
Award and two Juno Awards and being awarded two Felix' from the ADISQ and
several other Awards from various organizations. He is currently the Chief
Engineer/Producer for Big Mountain Studio of which this project is a product.
Mack Mackenzie, The lead singer
from the legendary Montreal band "Three O'clock Train". He has
recently released a compilation album as well as a new solo album on Justin
Time Records. The title track of his album "Train of Dreams" was
also the title track of the NFB movie of the same name. As a solo acoustic
performer, Mack has performed at the Mariposa and Winnipeg Folk Festivals
and was a featured artist for a showcase at the SxSW Music & Media Conference
in Austin, Texas, and at the Bluebird Caf, in Nashville. Mack has also opened
shows for such luminaries as Billy Bragg, Rick Danko, Cowboy Junkies and
John Hiatt. He has performed on stage with John Prine, Jimmie Dale Gilmore,
John Gorka, Los Lobos and Men Without Hats.
Michel "Mick Mustang" Langevin, He is a founding member of the heavy metal band "Voivod".
They just released their 9th record, Phobos, on Hypnotic Records. He came
back recently from a European tour with his band in which their van tumled
5 or 6 times down the Autobahn. Prior to that, he played the drums for Jason
Newfted's (bassist of Metallica) solo album. He also played drums on the
Men Without Hats album "Sideways". He does all the artwork for
his albums and he produced the video "insect" for his band by
generating the footage on "Soft Image" software.
